Radhamés Mejía (Santo Domingo, 1960). A painter from the Dominican Republic who completed his education in France, where he has resided since 1984, and whose work expresses the visual languages of the pre-Columbian cultures of the Island of Hispaniola, today divided into the Dominican Republic and Haiti. In Cuerpos Pintados he developed highly sensual, mysterious characters, cloaked in dark colors and luminous textures, that allude to the origins of his people.
