Luiz Allegretti (Porto Alegre, 1953). An Italian-Brazilian artist who has chosen photography as his principal means of expression, often in combination with installation and performance art. In Cuerpos Pintados he represented the struggle of man to incorporate himself into the modern, urban and alientating world, by creating dramatic situations in which he encourages his models to act rather than pose. The book includes a poem by Chilean poet Raúl Zurita.
